Bio

Alex serves as a Global Account Manager at AWS, supporting Global Media and Entertainment customers. Media and entertainment customers face industry-wide transformation, with companies reinventing how they create content, optimize media supply chains, and compete for audience attention across streaming, broadcast, and direct-to-consumer platforms. AWS aligns the most purpose-built media and entertainment capabilities against six solution areas to help customers transform the industry: Content Production; Media Supply Chain & Archive; Broadcast; Direct-to-Consumer & Streaming; Data Science & Analytics; and Monetization. Alex is tasked with combining efforts from AWS, industry partners, and customer teams to deliver marquee global events, increase streaming audiences, and chart new paths for monetization.

In 2023, Alex has helped major media companies to expand streaming services to millions of additional viewers. This included industry partnerships to run cutting edge Machine Learning models, prepare data for Generative AI use cases, and increase monetization possibilities. In a challenging media landscape, Alex contributed to profitable growth for streamers by leading cost efficiency projects that led to millions of dollars of monthly savings for platform infrastructure, storage, and data. Additionally, Alex is leading the transformation of a major media archive dating back to the 1930’s to build a bespoke asset management tool. This new tool will bring next level resiliency, scalability, and efficiency to one of the largest content libraries in the world.

Alex was awarded with the AWS Media and Entertainment Rising Star Award for his contributions to solving complex customer problems and piloting industry leading solutions. Alex leads other Amazonians in building partnerships across the media ecosystem to build solutions with AWS. Additionally, he is a mentor with the San Diego State University Aztec Mentor Program, where he works with students on finding internships, interview prep, resume workshops, and professionalism.
