James Shechet is a Content Operations Manager for YouTube across YouTubeTV, Primetime Channels, and NFL Sunday Ticket. In his role, he manages video on-demand (VOD) operations and quality for over 100 channels and more than 45 SVOD add-on services.
As a key member of the team behind the launch of YouTube’s Primetime Channels and NFL Sunday Ticket, he leads global efforts driving continuous efficiency, scalability, and automation across the VOD ingestion pipeline in support of the business’s fast growth to over 8 million subscribers.
Before joining YouTube, Shechet was an Associate on the Fox Networks Group Distribution team supporting cable, satellite, and vMVPD deal negotiations across their portfolio of entertainment, sports, and news networks. At Fox, he also led operations for their TVOD business for hit shows such as Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers.
James also works as an actor and voice actor, lending his voice for brands including DC Kids, All Elite Wrestling, and Google for commercial and animation content. Most recently, he played the voice of Lord Elrond for LEGO’s Lord of the Rings Rivendell playset commercial. He enjoys collaborating with filmmakers, creators, animation studios, and web comic artists as a voice talent and/or actor. James is a proud member of the National Association of Voice Actors (NAVA) and Voices of the Global Majority (VGM).
Shechet started his television career as a TV Ratings and Multi-Platform Research Analyst for Disney Channels Worldwide, analyzing market trends and viewership insights for Disney XD and popular kids programming including Star Wars Rebels, Gravity Falls, and Ultimate Spider-Man.
James is a graduate of USC’s Business of Cinematic Arts interdisciplinary program (BCA) and lives in Los Angeles. He enjoys spending time with his dog, Neo and surfing if he can ever find the time.
