Julian Malagon is Vice President of Development for Sony Pictures Television – Kids. Prior to Sony, he was a Content Executive at Netflix overseeing animated series for 6+ audiences such as Sonic Prime, My Dad the Bounty Hunter, and Daniel Spellbound. He began his career in animation supporting Fox TV Animation titles such as The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers. Julian first stepped into the kid’s animated space while working at Atomic Cartoons where he helped develop series such as The Last Kids on Earth, Princess Power, and Hello Ninja. 

A first generation Cuban-American from Miami, Julian is passionate about uplifting voices from marginalized communities and ensuring authentic and engaging portrayals of underserved narratives that are told from the informed perspective of experience. When he’s not developing kids’ series, you can find him playing with his pup Lupita at a park somewhere in L.A or planning his next camping trip.
