Prachi Kohli is a lawyer by profession and is currently working in Legal Affairs with the National Diversity Coalition (NDC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for greater opportunity, financial equality, and economic empowerment for the diverse, minority and LMI communities and being a voice for the voiceless.
NDC partners with cable and telecommunications companies, program networks, financial institutions, and others to bring information and initiatives to low-income communities aimed at creating economic opportunities. With NDC, Prachi is also advocating for ChimeTV, the first Asian American-owned network featuring the best in Asian culture and entertainment.
Raised in India, she has been passionate about working for equal opportunity and has a deep appreciation for diverse cultures. Prachi has received an LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and is a licensed attorney in India with experience in Indian taxation laws, litigation, and corporate compliance. She has also interned for the Superior Court of Los Angeles and served as a Legal Fellow for the Oasis Center International, a non-profit committed to inspiring and equipping the next generation to achieve incredible life skills through developing their creative gifts.
She joined the National Diversity Coalition in 2019 and is responsible for drafting agreements, communications with industry CEOs, conducting legal research, and advocating before the Federal and State regulatory agencies on mergers and acquisitions, that have a critical effect on minorities, particularly in the telecommunications, media and banking industry. She also coordinates the intervention on General Rate Cases before the Public Utilities Commission and actively works with Corporate Partners for designing public-policy-driven programs. Through her legal skills, she wishes to serve and advocate for the right thing and continue to empower the next generation. She is a hardworking woman who is committed to jumping in fully to the American culture, challenges and opportunities.
Outside of work, she has a keen interest in astronomy and developments in outer space exploration. She also enjoys Sci-fi documentaries and Bollywood movies.
