Amber Callahan is Vice President of Distribution at AMC Networks where she leads or serves as second chair negotiator on multi-million dollar deals in the US and Canada for all of AMCN’s services across traditional network carriage, SVOD, FAST/AVOD, and TVOD/EST. Amber is also part of the Business Development team at AMCN, where she has spearheaded partnerships to grow awareness and subscriptions for AMC+ with brands including Target, JetBlue, GrubHub, Amex and Meredith.
Since joining AMC Networks six years ago, Amber has transitioned from partner management and deal support to leading deal negotiations with majors MVPDs, vMVPDs and Connected TVs, including recent carriage renewal deals with Comcast and DISH. In the last few years, Amber led the launch of AMCN’s FAST Channels on multiple platforms including Samsung and Sling TV. She helped launch linear dynamic ad insertion (DAI) for the first time with Philo and Sling TV. Amber leads AMCNs Canadian distribution with all major BDUs. She also played a pivotal role in launching all AMCNs SVODs and AMC+ on YouTube.com’s newly launched Primetime Channels.
Prior to joining AMC Networks, Amber was a Senior Marketing Manager at Time Warner Cable and Charter Communications where she was a champion of independent film, creating tentpole campaigns that grew revenue in the category over 100%. While at TWC, she led the company’s Pay-Per-View Marketing team and executed a 360 degree marketing campaign that resulted in the most successful pay-per-view event to date while over indexing the industry by double digits. She also served as a board member for the company’s Women’s ERG.
Amber has shown incredible versatility and adaptability throughout her career, always willing to raise her hand for a new challenge. Whether it be managing digital sales and home entertainment marketing for A+E Networks while at New Video (now Cineverse), or juggling brand marketing, content acquisitions, and programming & scheduling at the Chinese startup YOU On Demand, or certainly in her current role in distribution and business development, Amber has thrived in fast-paced and rapidly evolving roles.
Amber earned a B.A. in Communications and Media Studies from Fordham University where she graduated from the Honors Program. Stemming from her time as a Resident Advisor and Campus Activities Chair in college, Amber is a one person party planning committee among her network, always looking to bring various groups together to make new connections and open doors for talented friends and colleagues. In her spare time, she enjoys live music, documentaries and spoiling her two nephews.
