Born on St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands to Enette and Maurice LeCointe, Deon is the youngest of 4 children. Even as a young man, Deon found himself fascinated with the inner workings of household devices. A passion that began with small projects like fixing broken toys, eventually grew into repairing VCRs, televisions, and the occasional microwave oven. He has led the implementation of IP-based infrastructure, cameras, and switchers at notable installations including CNN Hudson Yards in New York and NFL Network in Los Angeles.

Deon also drove the product strategy and roadmap of their Audio and Video over IP technology business; launching the NXL-IP55 and Sony’s flagship XVS series of production switchers used to produce a range of content from local news to some of the biggest sporting and entertainment events on television.

Under his leadership, Sony’s live production portfolio has undergone a massive transformation from purpose-built products to solutions that can be deployed as hardware or software to address the demanding needs of content creators. He has overseen the integration of Nevion US into Sony and the introduction of Sony’s first cloud-based live production platform.

With the goal of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace, Deon co-founded UJIMA, Sony Electronics’ Black Employee Network which helps Black employees to successfully navigate their career journey and creates an environment to help all employees feel supported and valued.

An established business and technology leader with over a decade of experience in the broadcast industry, Deon is regularly called on to speak at industry events and tradeshows to share his insights on technology and business trends in live production, IP, cloud, and content and workflow management. He currently lives in New York with his fiancé, Candice.
