Bio

Matthew Olson is a Sports Broadcasting Agent at the leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Olson is based in New York and represents many of the world’s leading Sports Broadcasters, including Laura Rutledge, Elle Duncan, Kate Abdo, Dan Orlovsky, Pablo Torre, Shea Serrano, and Jon “Boog” Sciambi.

Olson negotiated a multi-year, seven-figure-per-year deal for veteran ESPN writer and on-air personality Pablo Torre to join Meadowlark Media, where he will contribute to its unscripted efforts. The unique nature of the deal allows for Torre to continue working with ESPN while starting his tenure with Meadowlark. Olson also brokered a multi-year, seven-figure-per-year extension for former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky to join the #2 NFL booth at ESPN, while also maintaining his role as one of the mainstays on NFL LIVE, ESPN's signature daily NFL program.

Olson was an integral member of the team that negotiated a seven-figure-per-year overall deal for Shea Serrano at Amazon, which includes Serrano’s scripted television and audio rights. PRIMO, Serrano’s first series for the streamer, premieres in May. Olson also brokered multi-year, seven-figure-per-year extensions for Jon “Boog” Sciambi to remain the voice of the Chicago Cubs on MLB: THE SHOW video game, while continuing in his national role at ESPN in both baseball and college basketball.

In 2022, Olson secured a multi-year, seven-figure-per-year extension for Ramona Shelbourne at ESPN and ESPN Radio as its most prominent female NBA reporter and television personality, and negotiated for Shelbourne to be the executive producer on FX’s limited series THE STERLING AFFAIRS, based on Shelbourne’s ESPN 30 For 30 podcast of the same name. He negotiated a multi-year extension for Adnan Virk at the MLB Network, where Virk will take over as the lead host for the network’s 6:00 p.m. daily edition of MLB TONIGHT.

Olson negotiated a renewal of LZ Granderson’s ABC News podcast Life Out Loud, for which Granderson received the Signal Award for Best LGBTQ+ Series earlier this year. The podcast has been recognized with Special Honors by GLAAD, and was named Best New Podcast by Spotify following the success of its first season.

This year, Olson signed Liam McHugh, lead studio host for the NHL on Turner Sports, who will host his first Stanley Cup Finals this year. Olson also helped negotiate McHugh’s deal as the lead studio host for Apple TV+’s coverage of Major League Soccer.
