An ardent champion of creativity and inclusion, KIRBY DIXON currently serves as Director of Publicity for The History Channel, part of A+E Networks. In this role, she has spearheaded the ideation, development, and execution of innovative PR campaigns for many of the network’s tentpole series, including the hit survival series “Alone”, which The New Yorker recently called “the best reality series ever made,” the current #1 non-fiction series on cable “The Curse of Oak Island”, and most recently track-and-field documentary “Triumph: Jesse Owens and the Berlin Olympics” narrated by actor Don Cheadle, and Executive Produced by NBA-star LeBron James, among many others. Kirby is a thoughtful, creative, and relentless communications professional whose out-of-the-box and strategic thinking has resulted in major media successes and elevated the IP of The HISTORY Channel through the creation of marquee brand moments.
Beyond her PR work, Kirby has played an integral part in developing A+E’s overall company community and culture via her tireless championship of DEI initiatives. She was the founder and co-chair of the company’s Black @ A+E Networks Employee Resource Group (affectionately known as BAE), which is now comprised of over 150 active members and has contributed to cross-team networking and overall positive company culture. Kirby is also the co-creator, producer, and co-host of the Lifetime podcast “The Table Is Ours”, which was A+E Network's first-ever multicultural focused podcast. Through open and honest conversations, the podcast explores how Black identity has informed, empowered, and fortified the lives and careers of notable figures across industries, including A-list guests Quinta Brunson, Kelly Rowland, Law Roach, Stacey Abrams, Janelle Monaé, and Questlove, among many others.
Kirby’s career successes and industry impact is a testament to her character, work-ethic, and genuinely cultivated relationships. Often identifying opportunities to serve areas not yet fulfilled or stories not yet told, Kirby is a leading force of creativity and infectious positivity for all who work with her.
